Lights, camera, action. If you and your partner are ready to digitize your relationship, then your resources are right at your fingertips. However, there’s more to making a sex tape than simply pointing a camera at yourselves and humping. Like anything that has to do with sex, there is a certain kind of sensitivity required, and both partners need to recognize this right off the bat — otherwise, you’re more or less doomed to screw something up.
Trust is a must. Cameras. Unless you happen to work in the film industry, or just happen to enjoy spending money on equipment that you hardly even know your way around, don’t worry about treating your “set” like a professional cinematographer would. Using a small mini-dv camera or even the camera on your phone will work just fine. Just don’t expect it to look like the visual equivalent of a film made by Martin Scorsese.

But don’t assume this is going to be overwhelming in the slightest. For example, you can place your phone, your partner’s phone and a video camera in specific places around the room, and then afterwards you can edit them together to make it a seamless experience.
Speaking of editing. If you want your sex tape to, at the very least, look as good as it possibly can, focus on the editing, because you’d be surprised at how much a bit of scene-cutting can do to a homemade movie. This’ll give you the opportunity to get a nice wide shot of the two of you while you’re going to town on each other, and then cut away to a close-up of your faces to see just how happy you both look when you reach orgasm.
Acting. Now, the two of you are having sex. Something you’ve probably done quite a few times before this experience. But that doesn’t mean you can’t ham it up a bit now that cameras are pointing at you. If you don’t usually moan, moan. If you don’t usually thrust, thrust. You get the idea.
Positions. Even if you think you’re the kind of couple who thinks outside the box when you’re having sex, go even further outside the box. Get wild. Go online to get some visual inspiration and don’t hold back once the camera starts rolling. It’ll be worth it when you finally sit down, front and center, to finally watch the premiere.
Think like an adult film star. How would an adult film star prepare for his or her day on the job. Normally, their hair and makeup is immaculate, so you might want to take a cue from them. Even though you’re most likely going to get it tousled around quite a bit, don’t shy away from making yourself up as much as you would for a fancy gala event, minus the outfit.
