When you work out, you probably tend to focus on your arms, legs, and stomach, and you have a set workout routine that you follow for each specific part of your body. While you might think you’re working out all the most important parts of your body, there’s probably still one particularly vital area you’re not paying enough attention to when you complete your workouts — your vagina. Working out your vagina has many benefits, like preventing you from peeing every time you sneeze post birth, and helping you have better orgasms.Vaginal workouts are easy and don’t take very long to complete, so why wouldn’t you want to try them? Here, one woman gives a first hand account about what happened when she strength-trained her vagina for a week.

Exercising. Kegels are the vaginal exercises meant to strengthen your vagina, give you a better climax, and keep your vagina in tip top shape overall. Here, one anonymous woman shares her experience with working out her vagina for a week, and the results that came with it via Woman’s Health.

Working out. She explains that while she’s always loved working out, like most women she had never considered working out her vagina. She had just assumed kegels were an exercise reserved for new moms who had just given birth. But after finding out keels could actually give her better orgasms, she decided to try them out.

Challenge. "Come on, who wouldn’t want that? If working sets of kegels into my strength-training routine meant stronger Os, then I was completely game for the challenge,” she writes via Women’s Health.
Day one. So for seven days, she decided to try doing a kegel routine, documenting the results every step of the way. Her work out consisted of doing three sets of 10 to 20 reps once a day, based on the recommendation of her ob-gyn, Dr. Kecia Gaither. On the first day, she writes that she didn’t even have to leave her home to do the exercises, and did them all while sitting on the couch.

Burn. “She suggested I start holding each kegel for three seconds and work up to five. I squeezed for three seconds then released it, repeating this 20 times. By the end of my second set, I felt the burn that was similar to completing three minutes of inner thigh exercises at a barre class,” she explains.

Pleasure. Halfway through the work out, she noticed it was much more pleasuring than she imagined it would be. After speaking with her doctor, she learned this was normal and some women do get pleasure while doing kegels. By her second day, the kegels were becoming easier and easier.
Success. "Despite my successful first day, the second day felt too easy. I wondered if I was even doing this right. After chatting with Gaither, I learned that the best way to tell if you’re doing kegels correctly is by contracting you rmuscles in the middle of peeing to stop the urine from coming out or sticking a finger inside to feel the vaginal muscles contract. I chose to do my morning session using the second strategy to ensure that I was actually doing it right,” she writes.

Progress. On day three, the woman explains that she started intensifying her workouts by holding each kegel longer and longer. Instead of three seconds, she was now holding each rep for five seconds. By breakfast, she had already finished her first set. Later that day, She decided to give her a vagina a test run to see if she had made any progress.

Test drive. "I whipped out my vibrator and put the theory into action. Maybe it's just me, but holding a few squeezes before using my vibrator got me excited super quickly. I continued holding, squeezing, and buzzing until I felt an orgasm coming closer, stronger ah... but thanks to my vibrator losing power it wasn't successful,” she explains.
Day four. The next day, the woman looked for new places to do her kegels, and eventually decided to do them in between squats at the gym. After the workout, she decided to try out climaxing again, but to no avail once again. Not wanting to give up, she went at it again the following evening, but not before noticing that the burn that came with the exercising had gone away, meaning her kegels were finally starting to pay off.

Disappointment. "Luckily, I ended my solo session on a high note. Finally! But the orgasm wasn’t the knock-my-socks-off feeling I was hoping for. To be honest, all the hype about kegels creating better orgasms set the bar pretty high for me. I thought if my orgasms were great before kegels, these babies were going to amp it up times 1,000,” she writes.

Finale. On the sixth day, she explains that she considered giving up because the work outs were no longer challenging. But for the sake of completing the challenge, she decided to continue. On the last day, the woman writes that while she no longer felt sore, her exercise weren’t exactly doing anything for her anymore, and the promises of an explosive orgasms where no where to be seen.
Improvements. While my vagina strength has improved, based on my ability to complete three sets of 20 reps held for five seconds, I don’t think I'll continue my rigorous vagina-training regime,” she writes, via Women’s Health.

Results. In the end, she decided that the results she got weren’t what she expected, but did mention that perhaps sex would have had different results, although she didn’t get to test that out first hand.
